Trajan's Column

Today has provided some excitement and some rest. We started the day in the Imperial Fora and talked about the transition from Republic to Empire as seen in architecture. The high point of the morning was a chance to walk up Trajan's Column for an unparalleled view of the city.

After lunch, we visited several churches, including the Pantheon. We're now all taking a short break for shopping and sitting in piazzas, just like the rest of the Romans.

Hi All,

Sounds like you are looking at the city from all vantage points! Did you catch site of the Pope today? According to the Boston Glove, he was photo'd out and about with the crowds at the Vatican.

All is well here -- getting warmer and sunnier day by day. Enjoy the cafes, pizza and gelato!

Any chance of a photo or two of the group at the Trevi Fountain or Spanish Steps or ...?!?
